Ten of the Best for Andy
Xtreme-sponsored Andy Forrest has taken out the “Ten of the Best” (TOTB), with an outright win for the third year in succession, with fastest top speed, fastest quarter mile, and the fastest handling circuit qualifier.
Ten of the Best is a multi-skilled event that includes elements of drag racing, top speed and time attack. With only street legal cars allowed in the competition, the event is not only a demonstration of impressive driving skills, but also an opportunity for some of UK’s best performance workshop to display their result of months of careful engineering and tuning.
Driving the world’s fastest street legal Subaru Impreza, Andy won the drag event with a time 8.6 down the quarter mile; he won the top speed event with the fastest speed of 201.6 mph (322 km/h), and a class winning time of 37.27 secs on the handling circuit. “The car has been performing great, and the clutch has been faultless,” says Andy.
Xtreme’s flagship 230mm twin plate carbon clutch handles the monstrous 1,000-plus bhp and shock loading with ease, and has been running in the car for an entire season, with plenty of life left to give, which is not something that can be said of all clutches Andy has used.
“My previous clutches have always needed changing, often two or three times per season, but this one measured up like it could go run another season when we inspected it recently: I’m very impressed.”
