New bush range from Terrain Tamer

Terrain Tamer has announced a new range of rubber and synthetic elastomer Pro bushes as an addition to its already extensive catalogue of suspension parts.

While many rubber bushes on the market are made from compounds containing clay, grit and other impurities, Terrain Tamer’s new rubber bushes are made from a pure rubber composition, ensuring their performance exceeds that of the original equivalent.

Created in conjunction with an OE manufacturer, the bushes feature Terrain Tamer markings and have been made using unique clamp shell castings.

Made from a synthetic elastomer compound, the new state-of-theart Pro bushes complete the range, combining the ride feel that is typical from rubber, with the quality and durability found in a synthetic bush.

This material is specifically designed to be durable in high humidity climates without crumbling like some polyurethanes are prone to do, and is resistant to oils, chemicals and weathering. When lifecycle tested against samples of seven globally marketed brands of polyurethane replacement bushes, the Terrain Tamer Pro bush significantly outperformed all other samples, with results 57 percent better than the next best performing bush, and more than 184 times better than the poorest.

After stringent testing up to 2.5 million cycles, Terrain Tamer Pro bushes showed optimal grease retention and minimal signs of wear, supporting the increase in strength, durability and geometry provided by the synthetic elastomer compound, as well as better memory, compression and abrasion resistance.

“Suspension bushes are often the last part of a suspension kit that is considered by the owner, yet they are often the first item to perish,” says Terrain Tamer marketing manager Brent Hutchinson.

“The difficulty in bush manufacturing has always been the balance between durability and flexibility. Using old technology, a poly bush would be far more abrupt on the suspension components and deliver a harsher ride when compared to rubber, but with today’s technology and the elastomer compound, we’ve been able to bridge that gap in comfort between the synthetic and rubber bushes.”

Terrain Tamer Pro bushes come with a lifetime warranty. For more information, call 09 263 6021 or visit terraintamer.com
