New NARVA model 37 plug and play boat trailer

You don’t have to be a fully qualified auto electrician to fit the new NARVA Model 37 submersible LED lighting kit to your boat trailer.

That’s because the kit that has just been introduced to New Zealand consists of a plug and play harness, so no real electrical skill is needed and no splicing or joining of wires is required, making connections a tool-free operation. Just plug and play.

“It’s a very simple task for anyone to perform – a complete ‘plug and play’ solution for boat trailers making installation easier and quicker. Perfect for DIY installation,” says Tim Paterson, National sales Manager for Griffiths Equipment, which distributes NARVA lighting products throughout New Zealand.

Designed from the ground up, the Model 37 trailer lamp has been engineered for use on boat trailers that are regularly immersed in water. The lamps are protected from water ingress with a twostage sealing system that incorporates ultrasonic welding and a two-part epoxy glue, making for a truly sealed marine lamp. The new Model 37 is designed to comply with the stringent IP68 standard. Each lamp is fitted with a waterproof connector and joins effortlessly to the main harness, which is also compliant to the IP68 standard.

Fitting is easy, the company says. The waterproof connection system used in the

Model 37 utilises over-moulded connectors to quickly join the lamps and trailer plug to the main wiring harness.

Each kit contains all the necessary components to comply with fitting to a standard boat trailer under the ADR 13/00 for lighting installations. That includes two 12/24V slimline rear combination indicator/stop/tail/license plate lamps, two amber LED side marker lamps, main harnesses and a seven-pin flat plug.

Should any damage occur when launching or retrieving the boat any of the components are easily replaced, thanks to the plug and play system.

All hardware is made from 316 stainless steel, which is suitable for marine environments.
