Isuzu Trucks launches new safety-focused N Series range

-

The popular Light-Duty Truck is now more specification-rich than ever before, with a suite of new safety features headlining updates available on the new model.

Many of the new safety features were once the domain of cars and European trucks but have cascaded through the range and found their way into light-duty models. These include Electronic Vehicle Stability Control (EVSC), Advance Emergency Brake system (AEBS), Distance Warning System (DWS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Hill Start Assist on some models.

Typically, light-duty truck drivers operate in urban environments where there is significantly more stop-start traffic and allround congestion. With the addition of more safety features in this type of application, they are well equipped to help reduce the risk of collisions occurring.

The performance capability of N Series has also been enhanced, with the new NMR model receiving a six-speed manual transmission and matching rear-axle ratio, improving gradeability and fuel consumption.

Higher rated tyres (205/85R16) provide extra front axle capacity of 210kg and additional rear axle capacity of 380kg respectively.

The enhancements are rounded out with the introduction of a new interior colour and updated headlights complete with LED lowbeam lights, which deliver a wider, brighter and deeper beam compared with Halogen lights.

“The new N Series is loaded with features, there is a model to suit any number of applications with various engines, transmissions and wheelbases – plus the availability of Narrow, Standard and

Crew versions to cater for different requirements,” said Dave Ballantyne, General Manager of Isuzu Trucks New Zealand.
