R&J Batteries powering up New Zealand

-

R&J Batteries continues to expand its services in New Zealand. The company has been making rapid headway since opening its first branch in Auckland in

2018. Only three years in, R&J Batteries has already opened additional branches in Christchurch, Hamilton and Albany servicing both North and South Islands seamlessly.

The battery distributor’s Auckland branch recently relocated to Wiri due to outgrowing its Onehunga premises. The new distribution centre located at 57H McLaughlin’s Road features more than 1,000 sqm of full height racking bays, a new showroom, customer service area, multiple parking bays for customers and pickup, meeting spaces and a conference room.

“This relocation does not just expand our warehousing and distribution capacities but allows us to expand our New Zealand

Head Office capacity. With such a rapid growth being experienced in New Zealand, allowing for expansion in all areas, including our Head Office, positions us to remain on top of all growing demands in all areas of our business,” said Stuart Hamilton,

Chief Executive Officer at R&J Batteries.

Since merging with local battery distributor ACME Batteries in 2019, R&J Batteries have opened a branch in Christchurch and a new warehouse in Hamilton. The Hamilton branch, located at 31 Clem Newby Road, in Te Rapa is a warehouse strategically situated near Wiri and Auckland branches primarily for distribution purposes. The company’s other warehouse in Albany further strengthens the distribution network. The merger of ACME Batteries into the company makes R&J Batteries the new exclusive distributor of KOBA Batteries. Manufactured in South Korea, KOBA Batteries is well known locally for quality and reliability.

On the digital front, the battery distributor launched a brand-new website that is fast, responsive and user-friendly. R&J Batteries’ rapid growth required a new website that can cater to the increased website traffic, provide the best user experience and align with R&J Batteries’ plans for future growth. The new website comes with a toggle functionality which allows visitors in New Zealand to display content specific to their geographical location. Additional website improvements have been made to the Battery Finder and

Cross Reference Guide tools allowing visitors to view information easily and effectively to determine the best battery for their application. Over the next few months, R&J Batteries plan to make further improvements to the website adding new features, tools and resources.

Continuing its ongoing commitment to quality and safety, R&J Batteries has recently renewed its ISO accreditation. ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) is an independent, non-governmental and international organisation that develops standards to ensure the quality, safety and efficiency of products, services and systems.

R&J Batteries is ISO accredited in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems,

ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems, ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management and PAS 99:2012 Integrated Management System. These ISO accreditations strengthen consumer confidence knowing that the battery distributor’s product quality, environmental policies and OHS policies successfully meet international standards.
