EDITOR'S LETTER
Welcome to issue 200 of Motorhomes, Caravans & Destinations magazine. Over the past month the team at MCD has celebrated a couple of achievements. Firstly, it’s quite a milestone to be publishing our 200th issue, especially after such a challenging year. We were also recognised with several finalist nominations at the recent Webstar Magazine Media Awards. I was thrilled to be a finalist as Best Editor, and, thanks to your votes, we were also finalists in the People’s Choice Best Cover.
THE NZMCA SHOW
Over the weekend of 9-11 October, we were hard at work at the NZMCA Motorhome, Caravan & Leisure Show at Mystery Creek in Hamilton. The show is one of the biggest events on the calendar for New Zealand’s motorhoming community, and the RV industry. So it was a big relief, after having been postponed in September, that the show was able to go ahead and that it was a huge success for all involved. You can read more about the show on page 34.
IN THIS ISSUE
This month we have inspiring stories from Rotorua, Thames, Muriwai, Nelson and more. We also take a look at the new VW Grand California which was launched in Auckland last month. To celebrate our 200th issue, we revisit some of MCD’S past features and covers, and we have a fascinating story on the history of motorhoming. We also caught up with the team at Traillite to find out a little about their long and successful history of manufacturing motorhomes right here in New Zealand.
