Motorhomes Caravans & Destinations
EDITOR'S LETTER
Welcome to our December issue of Motorhomes, Caravans & Destinations – our last for 2020! As Christmas and New Year approaches (all of a sudden!), I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy holiday season. It’s been a tough year, and I hope that the weeks ahead see you relaxing with family and friends, enjoying good food, and discovering parts of New Zealand that you haven’t seen before. I’m very much looking forward to spending the week before Christmas with family to celebrate my mother’s special birthday. She’s never been to the South Island so I can’t wait to take her around Akaroa, Christchurch, and Hanmer Springs.
OOPS!
Thanks to those vigilant readers who spotted an error on page 90 of issue 200. As you all so rightly noted, Whangamōmona was spelt incorrectly, and of course, is located near Whanganui, not Northland! Thanks for keeping us on our toes!
THE PERFECT CHRISTMAS GIFT
If you’re still looking for a great Christmas gift for an RV enthusiast in your life, why not set them up with a oneyear subscription to Motorhomes, Caravans & Destinations magazine? They’ll receive the latest issue delivered to their letterbox in the first week of every month, and if you take advantage of this month’s special subscription deal, they’ll also receive two enamel mugs to use on their travels. So that’s 12 issues, plus two mugs, all for just $79. You can subscribe right now, online. Find out more on page 32.
IN THIS ISSUE
This month, we’ve got travel stories about a first-time motorhomer in Kaikōura, the treetops of Hokitika, hidden gems in Petone, the fascinating history of Āwhitu, and more. We also have a fascinating story from Bill Savidan about the evolution of the humble key, as well as handy Q&AS on RV fridges. We take a close-up look at the Frankia Platin from Zion, the Elite Palliser caravan from Insideout RV, the Bailey Adamo from RV Mega, and the Kea Breeze from RV Super Centre.
The next issue of MCD is due out on 7 January and will feature a wrap-up of all the RV reviews from 2020.
Until then, travel safely and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
