Fifth generation milestone

Napier Courier - - NEWS -

Isabella is not only the youngest child of Police Minister and Napier MP Stuart Nash’s four children, but is also the fifth generation of her family to attend Napier Central School. Isabella follows in the footsteps of four previous generations, starting with her great great grandmother, who was a first-day pupil back when the school opened in 1878. Stuart, who accompanied Isabella to school on Monday, says he clearly remembers his first day at Napier Central when Rob Lee, still a close friend and the best man at his wedding, greeted him at the classroom door and showed him his seat.

“There are a number of memories and events that unfortunately I miss as I am away in Wellington for most of the week, but Ella’s first day of school is very definitely a milestone that I was never going to miss,” Stuart says.

Starting school is a milestone for most of us, but for Isabella Nash, this Monday was extra special.
