Living a life of self love in new book

-

Bhavna Nagar started her own business, Alive! Psychology, named for her passion for life.

A clinical psychologist, Bhavna realised that for many years of her life, she did not like herself and treated herself badly.

Over the last 15 years she says she has learnt how to love herself, and she is keen to share her experiences for the benefit of others.

In her new book, Self Love: The First Step, Bhavna shares her thoughts and expertise.

“After developing and sharing the self-love approach with clients and seeing the easy transformation in them, I decided that making this available to the public would be my offering and a way of supporting people who would not necessarily come to see me in therapy or on retreats.

“Books have the power to transform lives, and my hope is that my book will do that for people.”

Bhavna sees many clients who feel that they have everything they need in life but who still are not fully engaging with it and are depressed or anxious. I want people to be happier, feel more alive, connected, real.

“Depression and anxiety can be because of our negative relationship with ourselves.

“Learning how to connect with our hearts and love ourselves frees us from these feelings because we feel that we always have our best friend supporting and guiding us.”

In her Napier clinic, Bhavna is a mindfulness practitioner and is passionate about sharing her sense of wellbeing with others.

“My love for life, my joy, happiness and sense of peace all come from mindfulness and self-love.

“My goal is to make this contagious and spread it to others,” she says.

“The book is a way for me to get the message out there and really make a difference.”

Bhavna will be launching her book, Self Love: The First Step at Wardini Books, 44 Hastings Street Napier, at 4pm on Saturday, December 8.

All are welcome to come and take the first step, she says.
