Summer races returning
The Interislander Summer Festival has been a must-do family event for 13 years and it’s returning to Hastings on Tuesday, January 1 for an actionpacked day of fun in the sun.
The festival has something for everyone, with live music,food, all-day entertainment and races.
This year’s event will also be celebrated with a mystery prize package giveaway for the festival’s one millionth customer.
For this year’s festival 29 races will take place across the country from Whanga¯ rei Racing Club in the north to Otago Racing Club in the south.
Hawke’s Bay Racing Inc spokesperson Greg Howie says the Interislander Summer Festival has grown in popularity year on year, establishing itself as a not-to-be-missed event on Hastings’ calendar.
“Hastings residents look forward to the Interislander Summer Festival every year and this year is no exception. Heading to the races with friends and wha¯ nau has become a summer tradition here in Hastings.”
The youngest race-goers can expect activities ranging from bouncy castles and sack racing to junior fashion shows.
The festival offers a full day of affordable entertainment with free entry for children aged 18 and under and adult tickets from $10.
