Christ­mas comes to town early

Christ­mas is com­ing early in Taradale with Christ­mas cel­e­bra­tions tak­ing place this Satur­day.

“Come on down to the shops be­tween 10am and 2pm and see what our busi­nesses have in store,” says Taradale Mar­ket­ing As­so­ci­a­tion man­ager Linda Walsh.

Glouces­ter St will come alive with en­ter­tain­ment, dis­plays, give­aways, mar­ket stalls and chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ment. There will be loads of free­bies on of­fer — free park­ing, free face­paint­ing, free bouncy cas­tle, free candy floss with the team from ASB and bal­loon an­i­mals with Lulu the Clown.

Santa will be at the PSEC Char­ity Shop from 10am to 1pm — make sure to get a photo and put your Christ­mas or­der in — it’s a gold coin do­na­tion.

“All our won­der­ful cafe´ s and restau­rants will be open and of­fer­ing plenty of yummy treats to sat­isfy the cel­e­bra­tory mood,” Linda says.

Christ­mas shop­ping will be made easy with plenty of stalls in­clud­ing hand crafts, gifts, soy can­dles, jew­ellery, gift bas­kets, plants, Christ­mas raf­fles, Cookie Time Christ­mas cook­ies, shop spe­cial ta­bles and much much more.

The Christ­mas Shoppe is also open in the Taradale Town Hall from 10am to 8pm. While in town make sure you take a stroll up Glouces­ter St and take-a-look at the Wooden Christ­mas Tree Com­mu­nity Art Project and en­ter the Peo­ple’s Choice com­pe­ti­tion.

“Thirty-six gor­geously dec­o­rated wooden Christ­mas trees will be on dis­play giv­ing Taradale a real fes­tive feel, thanks to the schools, in­di­vid­u­als and artists who dec­o­rated them. By vot­ing for your favourite you could win $100 of Re­sene vouch­ers for your­self and $200 worth of Re­sene vouch­ers for the favourite school.”
