Christmas comes to town early
Christmas is coming early in Taradale with Christmas celebrations taking place this Saturday.
“Come on down to the shops between 10am and 2pm and see what our businesses have in store,” says Taradale Marketing Association manager Linda Walsh.
Gloucester St will come alive with entertainment, displays, giveaways, market stalls and children’s entertainment. There will be loads of freebies on offer — free parking, free facepainting, free bouncy castle, free candy floss with the team from ASB and balloon animals with Lulu the Clown.
Santa will be at the PSEC Charity Shop from 10am to 1pm — make sure to get a photo and put your Christmas order in — it’s a gold coin donation.
“All our wonderful cafe´ s and restaurants will be open and offering plenty of yummy treats to satisfy the celebratory mood,” Linda says.
Christmas shopping will be made easy with plenty of stalls including hand crafts, gifts, soy candles, jewellery, gift baskets, plants, Christmas raffles, Cookie Time Christmas cookies, shop special tables and much much more.
The Christmas Shoppe is also open in the Taradale Town Hall from 10am to 8pm. While in town make sure you take a stroll up Gloucester St and take-a-look at the Wooden Christmas Tree Community Art Project and enter the People’s Choice competition.
“Thirty-six gorgeously decorated wooden Christmas trees will be on display giving Taradale a real festive feel, thanks to the schools, individuals and artists who decorated them. By voting for your favourite you could win $100 of Resene vouchers for yourself and $200 worth of Resene vouchers for the favourite school.”
