The Tremain’s Affordable Art Exhibition is the annual art lovers’ event not to be missed.

The word is out and tickets are on sale for the sixth annual Napier Girls’ High School (NGHS) fundraiser, the Tremains Affordable Art Exhibition, held from Friday, March 27 to Sunday, March 29 at Napier Girls’ High School, Clyde Rd, Napier.

It begins with an opening night gala event for sponsors, artists and ticketholders on the Friday night from 5.30pm to 8pm. The exhibition continues for free on Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm and features more than 300 pieces of top quality artwork, by more than 70 professional artists from around New Zealand, as well as art by Napier Girls’ High School students and teachers. Most pieces are on sale for less than $1200, with a few pieces this year valued at up to $2000.

The funds raised will be used to help NGHS students make well-informed choices for health and wellbeing and other support initiatives. Last year’s exhibition funded a painting artist-inresidence, and this year a photography artist-in-residence will be funded to mentor NGHS art students.

Tickets for opening night are on sale now and can be purchased on Eventfinda at $40 per person. This event is R18 and includes drinks and canape´ s along with the opportunity to be the first to view and purchase the art on sale. The return of the Pop-Up Gallery, open from 6.30pm, will show art and design items which can be purchased for between $5 and $200. Each year the gallery has become progressively more popular with many of the items on sale coming from the same artists as the main exhibition.

There will also be five bumper-sized raffles with prizes donated by Hawke’s Bay businesses collectively valued at more than $2500. Check out the five raffle packages on the website. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for a book of five. Purchase now from the school office or at the event over the weekend. The exhibition’s OnSite Cafe´ will be back in action on the Saturday and Sunday of the exhibition.
