Travel clubbers make most of being at home
Although many of our travel plans have been halted in their tracks, there’s still plenty of goings on at the HB Travel
Club.
The club boasts almost 60 members and meets at the Taradale Club on the fourth Wednesday of each month for a midday meal and a travel-related catch-up.
HB Travel Club president Don Alexander says members enjoy a hot meal then listen to a speaker.
“They talk about a trip or some aspect of being overseas and we usually have a Powerpoint presentation. We like mixing and meeting new people and hearing of the speakers’ adventures.”
In its heyday the club had 130 members and Don would love to encourage more people to join.
“We would like you to come and join these happy contented members of the HB Travel Club. Our next meeting is May 26. Come and hear about our exciting coach trip to Porangahau.”
