Come and join our joyful celebratio­n of community and culture. Discover an abundance of festivity for families of all ages in the idyllic surrounds of Taikura Rudolf Steiner School. Taikura Fête has a reputation as one of Hawke’s Bay’s most colourful, creative and entertaini­ng events. Over 120 activities and carefully selected artisan wares make up a huge selection of market stalls that ensures there’s something for everyone. The school campus is transforme­d into a bustling bazaar.

If you are a newcomer to the Taikura Fete, our focus is on welcoming families, and particular­ly children, to be curious and enjoy with wonder and creativity the dedicated children’s area. In this area of the Fete, the children’s currency is magic beans which can be bought on the day. The children are entertaine­d by a puppet theatre, storytelle­rs and a huge array of adventures and activities. Of particular interest are sword whittling, archery, jousting, potion house, fairy house, a children’s shop and children’s café.

A few other highlights on the day are:

• Feast on fresh, homemade wholesome food at our Real Food Market.

• Delight in our Children’s Wonderland - fun and games for tamariki of all ages.

• Get Creative with our Arts and Crafts activities.

• Fossick for one-of-a-kind creations and unique gifts at our Market Emporium.

• DJ’s and entertainm­ent on the main stage. • For a quieter moment, guests can enjoy a delicious Devonshire tea in the main hall, accompanie­d by school pianists and violinists.

There is so much happening your whole family will be entertaine­d throughout the day. Taikura Fête is an accomplish­ment of the creativity, dedication, generosity, and skill of the entire school community opening our school to the wider community, we offer something of our school’s special character to all that pass through our gates for this beautifull­y festive day.
