Wellington go clear
Wellington gave themselves breathing room at the top of the Provincial A points table after claiming their third bonus point win on day three at the New Zealand Cricket High Performance Centre in Lincoln. Their 125-run win over Otago sees them sitting on 15 points – seven ahead of their nearest rival. Defending champions Auckland now sit in outright second with a six-wicket win over hosts Canterbury, while Northern Districts picked up their first points of the tournament with a 21-run victory over Central Districts. There were two centuries on day three, with Auckland captain Tim McIntosh and Central Districts batsman Greg Hay (Nelson) both making triple digits.
