In-form Dhiman setting the pace

- WAYNE MARTIN

Last Saturday’s impressive sixwicket haul has shunted Amit Dhiman to the top of Nelson premier club cricket’s bowling competition.

The Waimea Toi Toi United seamer took 6-20 in his team’s comprehensive 10-wicket win over Athletic College Old Boys to move him to 26 wickets in this season’s Syd Guppy Cup competition.

That’s now put him two wickets clear of previous leader, Stoke Nayland’s Dylan Eginton, who was unable to play at the weekend due to injury.

Wakatu’s Abi Sakande, who was also out injured, is lying third on 23 wickets.

Meanwhile, WTTU opening batsman Tom Ingham has extended his lead to 52 runs in the Vonda Edwards Trophy batting competition, also ahead of Eginton, with Ingham’s tally now sitting at 408. Eginton has scored 356 runs and Wanderers’ Joe O’Connor 349.
