Security guard denies AB bug link
The security guard at the centre of the All Blacks bugging scandal in Sydney denies any involvement. Adrian Gard, regularly hired by the All Blacks for their Australian jaunts, has been charged with public mischief following a lengthy police investigation into the discovery of a listening device, allegedly placed in an armchair in the All Blacks team room at their Sydney hotel ahead of last year’s Bledisloe Cup test. ‘‘I don’t know anything about this stupid bloody bug,’’ Gard, 51, told the Daily Telegraph, breaking his silence on the controversy that has rocked the trans-Tasman rugby relationship. ‘‘I’m just going to ride the next few months out, the truth will come out in the end.’’
