Police continue to look into death
Police are still investigating the death of Nelson woman Tracey-Anne Harris a year after she was found dead.
Harris, 43, was found in her Marlowe Street home in Stoke on February 11, 2016 and her death remains unexplained.
Detective Sergeant Ian Langridge of Nelson said he believed someone could still come forward with information regarding her death.
‘‘While we are building a detailed picture of the events leading up to her body being discovered, the investigation team believe there are more people in the community who hold vital information about what happened to her.’’
Langridge urged anyone to come forward if they knew what had happened to Harris.
He said a team of investigators have spent hundreds of hours on the case in the past 12 months.
‘‘We have spoken with a large number of people up until now and the investigation remains open and ongoing.’’
Langridge said police wanted to be able to provide Harris’ grieving family with closure.
‘‘I ask anyone with information that may help us solve this case to speak to me as soon as possible.
‘‘Even if it seems small or insignificant, it could be a vital link to other pieces of information we already have.’’
In March last year Detective Inspector Paul Borrell said Harris’ preliminary toxicology reports left ‘‘some unanswered questions which police are working to clarify’’.
Harris’ son told the Masterton District Court that he believed his mother was murdered when he appeared on a breach of a home detention sentence in April last year.
