Hunter rescued

A hunter who injured his leg in a fall has been rescued by the Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter. The 54-year-old Richmond man was winched to safety from the hills near Brightwater around 8.30am on Sunday. The man had been hunting in a steep forestry block in the Eves Valley area when he fell, which caused a significant injury to his leg. Unable to move, the man managed to alert emergency services with his cellphone.
