Religion and Parliament

-

Chris Blackman Richmond, November 1 Speaker Trevor Mallard has taken the name of Jesus Christ from the parliamentary prayer. That’s the path he has chosen, so that he is not leaving other deities out.

If he is so concerned about that, what about using the names of the other deities for blasphemy or swearing? How about swearing in the name of Buddha, Mohammed, Krishna or whatever other god people worship? Has no-one ever noticed how it is always Jesus Christ that is used when swearing. Why? Because there is power in that name. People have marched on Parliament to show their concern – are you concerned?
