How the National Bowel Screening Programme works

60- to 74-year-olds are being invited to take part around the time of their birthday. Testing kits are sent out in the mail.

• If your birthday is on an even-numbered date (eg December 22), you will receive a kit before August 2019.

• If your birthday is on an odd-numbered date (eg December 23), you will receive a kit between August 2019 and August 2020.

• If you are currently 74, you will receive a test kit before you turn 75.

• If you turn 60 any time from now, you will be sent a test kit after your birthday.
