A low sits over the North Island with a front moving east across the North Island this morning. A cold southerly then a ridge follow over the rest of New Zealand. The broad shallow low over northern New Zealand drifts slowly east over the next few days, before moving away on Friday. Meanwhile, a ridge remains across the South Island. A weak front moves over southern New Zealand on Thursday, followed by another ridge on Friday.
