Osaka, Nadal win top prizes
It has been a clean sweep for tennis in the big individual prizes at the Laureus World Sports Awards. Japan’s Naomi Osaka has been named as sportswoman of the year, while Rafael Nadal won the men’s prize and Billie Jean King was given the lifetime achievement award. German football powerhouse Bayern Munich won the World Team of the Year award and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was voted Breakthrough Athlete of the year. Lewis Hamilton became the first recipient of the new Athlete Advocate of the Year, for his involvement in the fight against racism.
