First day for hearings

Hearings begin today for the 30-year development plan for the Nelson Tasman region. Elected members from both the Nelson City and Tasman District councils will be hearing submissions over three to four days. The submissions on the draft Future Development Strategy generally supported intensification over greenfield. After hearing submissions the committee will recommend a final strategy to the joint committee of the Nelson and Tasman councils on July 27.
