Loe hangs up oars

-

Dual world champion Olivia Loe has retired from rowing. Loe, 30, won gold in the women’s double sculls with crewmate Brooke Donoghue in 2017 and 2019, and silver in 2018. However, she missed selection in the boat for the Tokyo Olympics last year, with Hannah Osborne replacing her. Donoghue and Osborne won silver while Loe was part of the New Zealand quad which finished eighth overall. ‘‘It’s been a privilege to represent NewZealand on the world stage and something that I amincredibly proud of,’’ Loe said. The daughter of former All Black prop Richard Loe also represented New Zealand at world junior and under-23 levels.
