Stokes set for top test job

Ben Stokes is set to be confirmed as England’s newtest captain with his first assignment coming against the Black Caps. All the major British news outlets have reported that Christchurch-born Stokes will succeed Joe Root as captain after Root stepped aside earlier in April following the poor tour of the West Indies. England’s new managing director of men’s cricket, Rob Key, is tipped to announce Stokes’ appointment at his first media conference today if the necessary paperwork is completed.
