Air NZ details plans to relocate its head office to airport
Air NewZealand is planning to relocate its head office from Auckland’s CBD to Auckland International Airport in 2024. The move from its existing head office on Fanshaw St in the Wynyard Quarter to a refurbished Air NewZealand building at the airport called the campus, will bring the airline’s roughly 5500 Auckland staff into one location. A new10,000-square-metre engineering facility, called Hangar 4, first announced in 2019, will also be built next to the campus. Air NewZealand chief executive Greg Foran said the four-year investment, costing ‘‘many millions of dollars’’, would future-proof the airline’s infrastructure and reduce property costs. ‘‘We’ll be creating an environment where the people who plan our future work alongside those who operate our aircraft and work with our customers every day,’’ Foran said. Globally, this way of working was delivering results for customers and shareholders, he said.
