Taylor ‘set to retire’

-

Warriors coach Nathan Brown has confirmed the career of Ash Taylor is over, with the halfback damaging his hip again in the round two loss to the Titans. ‘‘Ash has obviously had a difficult time with his hip and things aren’t going great there for him,’’ Brown said. ‘‘Without him playing again, probably retirement is pretty fair statement. I don’t think Ash will be playing rugby league any more. But we’re trying to make him earn his money and keep him active.’’ Brown hoped Taylor, a Queenslander who played for the Broncos and the Titans (where he was on a $1 million a year three-year contract) could find a role in the game in his home state.
