Our NZSL masthead

This week, we mark one of the country’s three official languages, New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL).

Today, we have a special masthead spelling out Nelson Mail in sign language to raise awareness and encourage you to think about learning a phrase or two.

For the 20,000 or so Kiwis who use NZSL to communicate, a simple ‘‘hello’’, ‘‘have a great day‘‘ or ’’thank you’’ can be a great gesture to show you care.
