Davidson named MVP

Tall Ferns star Penina Davidson has been namedMVP for a second straight year at the 2021 Basketball New Zealand Awards. The 26-year-old not only made it back-to-back Female Player of the Year awards on Saturday night, but took the MVP title again, too, ahead of Male Player of the Year Mika Vukona, who was recognised after his swansong display for the Tall Blacks in February last year against Australia. Kirk Penney, Phill Jones, Leanne Walker and former referee Ken Coulson were inducted into Basketball New Zealand Hall of Fame inductees on the night.
