272 new cases

New Covid-19 cases in the top of the south have fallen again slightly, the Ministry of Health reported yesterday.

The ministry recorded 272 new cases of the virus in Nelson-Marlboroug­h yesterday, down on the 282 cases it reported on Wednesday and 339 on Tuesday. Seven people with Covid-19 were also in hospital in Nelson-Marlboroug­h, up on the six people in hospital on Wednesday. There are 1794 active cases in the top of the south.

Nelson Marlboroug­h Health, which has slightly different figures because of different reporting times, recorded 289 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday. These included 98 in Nelson, Richmond 46, Motueka/Moutere 31, Golden Bay 12, other areas of Tasman 9, Blenheim 60, Picton 7 and other areas of Marlboroug­h 15.
