Six signs of an emotional eater
Remember, everyone indulges in a little emotional eating. But when all of these signs are present it’s time to consider breaking the cycle.
■ You eat noticeably more (or less) when stressed.
■ You feel anxious and out of control around certain foods.
■ Food is your top (and often only) go-to strategy when feeling emotional.
■ You eat when you’re not hungry or when you’re full (you struggle to feel the signs).
■ You reward yourself with food.
■ You believe food calms them or picks you up better than anything else can.
■ Your periods of eating are often followed by regret, guilt and shame.
