Gate closes on mullet
Commonwealth Games hero Aaron Gate is shaving off his famous mullet for charity. The 31-year-old, who won a record four gold medals across the track and road at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, has decided to part with his mullet and will be raising funds for men’s health as part of the Movember campaign. Gate said he would be sad to see the mullet go and hoped it would not affect his aerodynamics on the track. ‘‘I’ve gotten used to it and my wife actually really likes it as well. I’ve had a few people tell me the mullet must be my lucky charm but I can always bring it back if need be.’’
