Briscoe sales up 26.7%
Briscoe Group lifted its sales by 26.7% year-onyear in the three months to October 30. Total unaudited group sales for the 13 weeks hit $175.5 million, compared with $138.5m in the same period a year earlier. Homeware sales increased by 23% to $107.7m in the period, while sporting goods sales increased by almost 33% to $67.8m. The strong increase in sales in the quarter could be attributed to last year’s comparable period being significantly affected by store closures from-August to early November during lockdown. Despite this, sales for the quarter were a 25% increase on third-quarter sales in 2019 prepandemic disruption.
