Davis Cup tie in Chch

Tennis New Zealand has confirmed Kelly Evernden’s Davis Cup team will host Bulgaria in Christchurch in a World Group 1 playoff in February. The tie will be held at Wilding Park Tennis Centre on February 4-5. New Zealand have hosted their last two home ties in the United States, due to Covid-19 border restrictions. The Bulgaria clash will be the first Davis Cup tie in New Zealand since the 3-1 win over Venezuela in Auckland in March 2020. The tie winner will compete in a World Group 1 tie in September, whilst the loser will drop to World Group 2.
