Light plane crashes

A light plane has crashed in Motueka. Police said the light aircraft crashed on the runway at the Motueka Aerodrome just after 3pm yesterday while attempting to take off. No one is believed to have been injured. Police had referred the matter to the Civil Aviation Authority. St John external communications specialist Amy Milne said St John sent one ambulance to the incident, but it wasn’t required.
