Products and accessories

New Zealand Company Vehicle - - CONTENTS -

Whilst new cars today come with a lot more standard features than 30 years ago, when even a radio was an option, there is still an amazing range of products and accessories for vehicles. Some have a strong private buyer focus (dress up items) whilst others are more functional and aimed primarily at fleet users (van shelving). Many transcend the type of use (tow bars, lights etc). Our feature looks at a few selected accessories that will be of use to fleets. Some of these improve safety such as the Hella Safety Daylights that give the option of retrofitting older models with Daytime running lights which are now standard on most new cars. Many fleet vehicles, especially utes and vans, get heavy use where the drivers are working on site and may need to drive in dirty overalls or with clothing that is wet or dirty from being on the job. Black Duck seat covers can help keep the original seats pristine and can also be easily removed and cleaned protecting the vehicles ultimate resale value. Ali Arc offers a large range of aluminium vehicle protection and load carrying equipment for utes and vans including bullbars, nudge bars and ladder or roof racks. VCM has a wide range of accessories and their editorial contribution gives a great breakdown on the key considerations for selecting the best option from each accessory type including the great advice that if you have a particular use case, it might pay to check what accessories are actually available for a particular model before you decide what to buy rather than discovering that the specific accessory you want is not available for the model you chose.
