Carrington is a grand estate just a few short hours from Auckland. Boasting a 3000-acre estate on the pristine and picturesque Karikari Peninsula is a worldclass beach-side escape, a million miles from everyday life and a unique New Zealand resort.

Along with the hillside vineyards of Karikari Estate, spectacular accommodation options and stunning restaurant, Carrington also has the most amazing oceanside 18-hole championship golf course.

American golf course designer Matt Dye designed the Carrington Golf Course which is 6417 metres in length, par 72, and encompasses a variety of terrains from rolling vales to challenging water holes. And the views from every hole are mind-blowing.

Designed to accommodate golfers of all abilities, the course has one of the longest par five holes in New Zealand, 569 metres (599 yards), to one of the shortest par three holes at 113 metres (132 yards) over water.

The clubhouse rises high on a ridge in the middle of the golf course with the spectacular views of the course, wetlands, Northland beach and the ocean beyond.

When you finish your game and you are ready for lunch, stay in your golf cart and drive it up the hill through a purpose-built tunnel under the main road to join the rest of the party at the Karikari Estate Winery for lunch and a chance to talk (gloat) about how you tamed the water hole in two with a mighty 40-foot putt for birdie.

Carrington Estate General Manager William Tan said the experience of playing golf at Carrington Estate is as unique as Northland is beautiful.

“Our golf course is at the heart of the estate and is regularly listed as one of the top 20 golf courses in the country,” Tan said.

“Visitors can also use their time here to have a game of tennis, visit the onsite massage room, the heated infinity pool and then finish off their evenings at Carrington Estate’s elegant and inviting fine dining restaurant offering a seasonal menu, which is beautifully prepared, coupled with medal-winning estate-grown wines.”

Carrington Estate has some great play and stay packages for golfing Kiwis at the moment that include unlimited golf, stunning accommodation and the delightful fine food and wine across the Carrington Estate.
