SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE-HATE: Dear Mr Shakespeare is a short film that has taken its director, Shola Amoo, all the way to Sundance. Made as part of the British Council’s Shakespeare Lives in 2016 project, it features artist Phoebe Boswell’s contemplation of Shakespeare’s Othello and was first released on the Guardian website: tinyurl.com/NZLDearMr. Also screening at Sundance is a new short film made by Laura Poitras ( Citizenfour) and Henrik Moltke, in which Rami Malek and Michelle Williams read excerpts from classified NSA documents. PODCAST OF THE WEEK: Unexplained is the Twilight Zone of podcasts and its mysterious stories of the paranormal propelled it to No 2 in the iTunes chart last year. It’s made by a screenwriter from Tottenham, who has covered such stories as the Pontefract Poltergeist and occultist Aleister Crowley. Its second season launched on January 25 with a story about talking trees in the Black Country west of Birmingham. Details and episodes at unexplainedpodcast.com.
