FOG OF WAR

-

The media frenzy over Nicky Hager and Jon Stephenson’s book, Hit & Run, is just free advertising for them. When I was a professional soldier in South Vietnam, we were constantly on the alert for terrorist activity in areas where there were civilians, as terrorists do not abide by any rules of engagement.

Terrorists use civilians to shield their movements, and therefore unfortunate situations arise. John Dyer (Rotorua)

Nicky Hager once again postures on the high moral ground. He has a strange sense of values: how warped is it for him to fly the flag of public morality yet at the same time line his pockets with the proceeds from publishing another exposé?

Hager seems embedded in a peculiar time warp. In the

prelude to another election, he attempts to embarrass politicians, as usual those on the centre right. If his concern was so great, why didn’t he release this information a long time ago? Patrick Miller (Mangawhai)
