HRT LOWERS DEATH RISK
Hormone replacement therapy, used by women to relieve menopause symptoms, has long been controversial and studies have associated it with health risks as well as benefits. Now, a new imaging study at California’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center suggests women who use HRT face a lower risk of early death and show lower levels of atherosclerosis – plaque build-up in the heart’s arteries – compared with women who don’t use it.
