Bowel screening should start at age 45 for early cancer detection, say scientists in France. They analysed more than 6000 colonoscop­ies and found a large increase in colorectal lesions in patients from that age. New Zealand’s free bowel-cancer screening is being rolled out for people aged 60-74.
