SKIDS UNDER SIDS
Breastfeeding for at least two months cuts a baby’s risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) almost in half, according to new research published in the journal Pediatrics. Even if mothers weren’t breastfeeding exclusively, their infants still got the same benefit, and the longer babies were breastfed, the greater the protection. It remains unclear why, although researchers believe immune benefits and effects on sleeping patterns may play a part.
