STROKE PREVENTION FIND

-

If you’ve had a minor stroke (known as a transient ischaemic stroke or TIA), taking the clotpreventing drug clopidogrel along with aspirin may lower your risk of having a major stroke within the next 90 days, according to a study in the New England Journal of Medicine. The study of 4881 adults in 10 countries found those who took both drugs after a TIA were 25% less likely to have a major stroke in the next three months than those who took aspirin alone.
