Catch of the Week

- By FIONA RAE

WHY WOULD YOU: The controversial American series 13 Reasons Why is back and causing concern that its graphic depictions could a ect young viewers’ mental health. The episodes come with warnings and messages from the actors and the second season has, like the first, been rated RP18 – a classification that was created especially for the show. The chief censor, David Shanks, is not convinced Netflix’s warnings are adequate, however, and the Mental Health Foundation has set up its own 13 Reasons Why page with advice on the issues: tinyurl.com/NZL13Reasons.

REBOOT MANIA: Star Trek: Discovery, Dynasty, Roseanne, Will & Grace – US TV has got a case of reboot fever. Among projects in the works are new versions of Charmed, Miami Vice (with executive producer Vin Diesel), The Munsters (with talk show host Seth Meyers producing), Party of Five and a live-action sitcom version of The Jetsons. The current political climate in America has made it a particularly good time to bring back Murphy Brown; here’s the trailer: tinyurl.com/NZLMurphy. Meantime, Magnum PI is going all-out action with new star Jay Hernandez: tinyurl.com/NZLMagnumPI.
