Visual-audio biofeedback may provide a useful tool for transgender women to modify their voices to better reflect their gender identity. Visual-acoustic biofeedback allows a person to speak into a microphone and view a real-time representation of their speech signals on a monitor. Researchers at New York University found that transgender women could use this process to adjust their resonant frequencies to better match those of cisgender female speakers.
