DATA WARRANTY REGISTER
What is the Data Warranty Register? The Data Warranty Register (DWR) is a self-regulatory system that will provide best-practice transparency relating to the collection, storage and use of marketing data by New Zealand businesses for marketing purposes. It is designed to be an effective identifier of data owners, providers and enhancers who follow best practice guidelines and/or are trusted sources of data.
The DWR is intended to future-proof the collection, storage and use of both consumer and business data to demonstrate the effectiveness of a self-regulatory regime, thereby reducing the likelihood of restrictive laws being implemented which may affect the ability (and the right) to take goods and services to market.
Companies that carry the Data Warranted logo treat your personal information with respect and absolute privacy, in accordance with best practice standards and New Zealand law.
NAME SUPPRESSION SERVICES
Consumers have the right to opt out of receiving unsolicited marketing communications, whether by mail or telephone, at their home addresses. The Do Not Call and Do Not Mail lists, as well as the NZ Deaths List, are available by subscription for organisations.
The Name Suppression Service allows members of the public to add their name to Do Not Call and Do Not Mail lists. The MA then allows subscribers to access these lists, along with an additional Deaths Information list.
