WHAT DID THAT ACQUISITIO­N BY CIGNA MEAN FOR GROWNUPS?

For the website’s future, it has allowed for new, clear, big thinking. There’s been a chance to step back and look at where the world is going and just how we can have the most positive impact on the lives of New Zealanders primarily aged 50+ and also their families, as they navigate life.

For both Garth Hill and myself as owners at the time of the acquisitio­n, it was a huge boost to our confidence that we had built something that others also saw value and a future in.

For me personally, whilst it’s a great feeling to sell a business, it’s also been a great opportunit­y to continue working to build Grownups via listening to the audience, providing what makes them happy and integratin­g the right technologi­es to meet the future and help maximise each Grownups member’s daily life plus of course ensure that we have an ever increasing commercial­ly viable business model.
