MA brings global learning to NZ
The world-famous University of California at Berkeley is now available in New Zealand, in partnership with Marketing Association.
IN A FIRST FOR NEW ZEALAND,
the New Zealand Marketing Association (MA) has announced a partnership with Berkeley Global, the continuing-education division of the world-leading University of California at Berkeley, to offer their innovative online digital courses from Silicon Valley to New Zealand. MA has been working with Berkeley Global for the past year to put this package together and from January programmes have been available to Kiwi marketers at a preferential price.
“Berkeley Global’s online programmes are a perfect fit to complement our current offerings to the New Zealand marketing community,” says MA CEO John Miles. “All of these courses are taught by practitioners, just like our workshops. For example, Digital Marketing is taught by Jason Miller, ex- Group Marketing Manager of Linkedin and Microsoft and now Head of Brand at Active Campaign in London. These innovative courses are an awesome addition to our NZ Marketing Academy and will provide credit towards professional certifications.”
As part of the partnership, UC Berkeley is hosting a number of free webinars from their expert practitioners. The first for the year was by Rinoti Amin, Director of Online Growth at Malwarebytes and previously Digital Marketing Director of Paypal. She gave an insightful presentation on the future of digital marketing post Covid-19. More free webinars for MA members will be held throughout 2021.
“Berkeley Global is pleased to partner with the NZ Marketing Association to provide professional development courses and programmes to MA’S more than 8000 members,” says Associate Dean for
Academic Affairs at Berkeley Global Frederick Wehrle. “We’re excited to support the MA’S efforts to enhance its impressive educational offerings through more structured pathways, greater relevance and a more globalised approach. This partnership allows Berkeley Global to further achieve our mission of extending UC Berkeley’s impact globally. Our courses will offer MA members a unique opportunity to learn from expert practitioners in Silicon Valley, enabling the Association’s members to acquire best practices and cuttingedge insights from the world’s leading centre of innovation.”
This online programme will help Kiwi marketers develop new and unique skills across a range of specialties. “These programmes have been selected by marketing experts in New Zealand, and will be taught by professionals from leading companies in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area,” says Miles. “Included in the package of offerings is the Professional Program in User Experience Design, which teaches user-centred design principles and techniques, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, persona building, affinity mapping and more.”
