Inside these pages on pg12 we feature an article ‘Shootout At The Farm’ where we feature a battle of Man Vs Machine Vs Ocean, where we talk of the frustrations of surfing this break and the waves you can often see but can’t get; that is unless you have your magnet on, and every now and then for no particular reason one surfer can find themselves scoring all the waves while another just as talented and paddle fit misses out altogether. Having your magnet on is a phenomenon that surfers have often tried to replicate session to session but have never been able to solve the mystery as to why one day everything falls in place and the next it all falls to pieces. On this particular day Buck Woods was late to the shootout, or was he the only one that timed his run to perfection? He knocked off work, even though he was under the pump, cause that’s what you do when you’re self-employed in a surf town. He scored a ride over to the Farm and jumped over the side of the boat, paddled in and stroked straight into this wave pictured here! All style.

Later that arvo after scoring a tonne of epic waves, he then jumped on the machine and slotted one of the best views he’s had in his surfing career featured on pg 22. Buck Woods on this day was the magnet man!
